Romney/Amash 2020 independent ticket would make Trump lose what is left of his mind instantly and would make it mathematically impossible for him to win, would be as big of a mess for the incumbent as Perot was for Bush. Bush was weakened already like Trump. Perot wrecked him.

I agree on the Romney/Amash ticket torpedoing Trump, but you're absolutely wrong on Perot killing Bush's reelection. Polls from the time show that Perot pulled voters from Clinton and Bush almost evenly.

Historically an incumbent president, primaried, while he won the nom, lost his election. Because he went into the general weakened. Which is why the RNC is shutting down the presidential primaries and not letting Walsh or Weld in
