Today marks the first day @overwatchleague teams can make trades for 2021, and free agency opens up at the end of next week. I'm seeing a lot of inaccurate info already, so here's a quick attempt at correcting the record where I can now on a few points. (1/4)

Players may choose to share their contract status with fans, and some teams will announce roster moves in real time, though many pending free agents do not technically become free agents until October 23 or November 20 depending on when they originally signed with the team. (3/4)
That said, team GMs have access to a database that shows all the players currently signed to each team and when those contracts expire, including any option years. So players posting that they’re becoming free agents shouldn’t be news to any teams that are interested. (4/4)
