Minor quibble: I worry about the claim that someone who didn’t experience themself as a doer/agent couldn’t get around in the world. Depersonalized people do! And the possibility of doing so in a non-compromised way is a difficult issue that shouldn’t be dismissed so quickly

That's the point, though. Depersonalization is a form of dissociation, which means that (using the language from my post) the self-as-agent model has been unlinked from conscious representation -- not that it has been uprooted from the mind entirely.
