Not accurate. It is legal for an individual to cross the border and immediately surrender to authorities to be considered for asylum. This can be done if they have evidence that their life is at risk.

And it says if they are fleeing their own country, to get get asylum from the first country they come to. Mexico was giving them asylum. They just want to come here to get free stuff.
