From his service during WWII, to his 30 yrs representing the people of Hawaii in the halls of Congress, Daniel Akaka’s legacy of action & activism represent the best of America. May it be a comfort to his family that so many join in celebrating the life of this extraordinary man.

Thank you Ms Pelosi for your kind words about Senator Akaka. Now it is time for all Members of Congress to begin performing their oversight activities as constitutionally and statutorily mandated. I actually heard a MoC say that they have no role with respect to the activities

Of the Administration. If that is the case, each and every congressperson who refuses to do that aspect of their job should a) retire b)as the kids say "Get Out of the Way" or c) have their salary reduced by 1/5 since oversight is one of the top five duties Congress has.
