Ask the colleges to lower their fees. And stop subsidizing student loans -- which go directly to enriching colleges.

I suspect that a nuclear war and no Medicaid will may make me unable to pay my taxes or my loans, though I fully intend to do so upon graduation if the blast does not occur.

FYI: I am not a "young people", my "young people" days were mired with misery so perhaps I am not deserving enough of assistance at my age. I am almost 56 and working on a college degree.

An admirable pursuit. I would assume there are grants available to those of us "advanced" in age to earn a degree, but govt lacks promotion/advertising.

The same grants that are available to all potential college students are the ones available to us. Unfortunately, there are no perks that go with age where education is concerned, it appears.
