He may not have been the greatest president of all time, but he is one of the greatest human beings!

This president deserves great respect. He's a humanist above all. I'm atheist, but if all the Christians behaved like him, the world would be a much better place.
-
He is an example of a true follower of Christ. I cannot explain the Falwells and Grahams of the world but Christian is not a descriptor I would use. As a Christian I aspire to be more like Jimmy Carter but fall short.

Few presidents in history have been so influential after leaving office as President Carter has been. I was just a wee boy when he was elected president. I barely remember it but sadly I do remember the problems he faced late in his presidency.
-
I was too young to understand the politics of it all but I do remember how much criticism he received for how he handled the economic malaise, the Iran hostage crisis, and the events in Nicaragua.
-
Looking back now with the benefit a experience and having seen the consequences of the irresponsible use of military power I see Jimmy Carter in a much different light. I can now appreciate the goodness in that man and lament at what we as a society have lost since his departure
-
It is too bad that some of his moral virtue and humanitarianism has not rubbed off on his successors.
-
Very well said and insightful - nicely done and I would like to add my ditto, if you don't mind...
