I'm Native American. Ponca. This is a great honor to us. Nebraska's GOP Legislature voted to remove a statue of a white man for Standing Bear because it was the right thing to do. Now it is time for Republicans elsewhere to remove Confederate statues from the People's House

How is anyone on here disrespectfully disrespecting a dedication to an Aboriginal American - an Indigenous American? Astonishing. If you are an American, honor the Aboriginal American with respect and honor. It's horrible enough that land, rights and dignity were taken from them.

And as I said earlier, put the politics aside and recognize what's happening here. The government is trying to right a wrong by way of a Chief Standing Bear's statue and other Indigenous Americans present. This is enough reason to not respond with anything other than respect.
