I grant that this is just my opinion, but I strongly suspect that most of you in Congress tend to put special interests ahead of public interest. Top leadership are probably the worst offenders. I think your position is therefore hypocritical.

"special interest" will vary in its meaning depending on the listener. It's great political buzz because it puts you on the listener's side every time, which is why I think intelligent politicians should avoid using the word. It doesn't mean anything.
