I often see veterans pitted against immigrants in this way, and I don’t understand why we can’t dramatically improve conditions for both. Also, this only ever seems to come up in immigration debates. Why not

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't the new directives what the asylum standards are suppose to be even by UN standards. Asylum seekers are suppose to seek asylum in the first safe country they come too.
