What is this if not politics Madam Speaker. What about the already very real disaster we have at the border? Can’t we work to solve that crisis first? Why can’t politicians work to solve problems rather than just work against each other on every single issue.

$41b was allocated for PR disaster relief. The other $50b is an estimate of additional aid that will need to be allocated over the next decade+ for long term recovery. Puerto Rico has actually received only ~$12b of the $41b allocated to date.

So the $50b is theoretical money on a ballpark estimate and has not been allocated.
