I don't think she cares about the gop base. She does care about the huge number of moderates and dems who aren't yet on board.

She has talked about impeachment firing up their base. More than once.

2 most ppl, esp. moderates, want hearings first. I tend to agree. I'm also fairly certain the Senate will not remove him.

Hearings are the first part of impeachment. No one is saying they should go straight to the vote. Public, televised hearings is what we need. A small percentage have paid attention to the Mueller report or other corruption, public hearings would change that.
