The #MuellerReport paints a disturbing picture of a president who has been weaving a web of deceit, lies and improper behavior and acting as if the law doesn’t apply to him.

Madame Speaker, I am a huge supporter but the time for measured words and more hearings has passed. We all saw the obstruction with our own eyes. If the House does not start impeachment proceedings, the rule of law is lost and we will have destroyed our country with inaction.
-
On one hand: you’re completely correct that the contents of the report are grounds for impeachment, even if they fall short of criminality. On the other hand: Trump could have murdered servicemen and sold nukes to NK, and
@SenateGOP would still stand by him. -
That’s. Not. The. Point. When the f*ck will the Dems do the right thing? There was not a Senate that would have convicted Nixon either. But the House did the right thing. And the people won.
-
The Senate would very much have convicted Nixon, and that's exactly what Senator Goldwater told Nixon, who resigned two days later.
-
Yes, but it took investigation to get to that point. Which is my point.
-
I agree in spirit but think you are a bit confused on history/semantics. First, the House never voted to impeach Nixon. Watergate resolved without that. So Democrats should of course do the "right thing", which in Watergate was thorough investigation with _threat_ of impeachment.
-
No, I’m not confused on history. The House essentially started an investigation to move to impeach. In the present day, that, or a resolution to impeach is what I am advocating. It is essential for democracy and the constitution.

Lack of action, and deciding against Impeachment, as
@LeaderHoyer suggests shows the WEAKNESS that the AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE SICK OF WITH DEMOCRATS! -
This is why the Republicans have been able to get away with EVERYTHING they have done to bring us to this point in History, because the Democrats roll over and DO NOTHING! PROTECT U.S. AGAINST ENEMIES, BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC!

No, it's acurate. It's the right thing to say.

Take action on impeachment. It’s the bare minimum you can do.
-
No, friend. Impeachment is the will of people, both sides, or doesn’t happen.
-
DEMS don’t do stunt impeachments on Madame Speaker’s watch.
-
Oh cool, you’re one of those people who think it’s okay for a president to break the law. Good to know.
-
It’s a bipartisan thing. Not a stunt. Impeachment by Congress is a consequence of public opinion as well as of lawbreaking, with respect. Obstruction is clear, of course. Timing matters, however.
-
Exactly. Pelosi wasn't talking impeachment before because they were waiting for Mueller to turn in his report. He's done that, and despite what Trump's new defense attorney... I mean AG... Barr says, the report gives them ample cause to get the ball rolling.
-
I have to say, though, if the redacted report shows just cause to try for obstruction, I can't imagine how much more damning the UNREDACTED report would be. Trump likely had cause to slump in his chair and say, "I'm fucked."
