Republicans consider “fair elections” a power grab because they know it would be the end of their reign. We need to end gerrymandering and voter ID laws NOW.

By all means, get rid of gerrymandering - some of those districts could give a cartographer nightmares! But I have never heard a convincing argument why all voter ID laws are a bad idea. Some seem pretty reasonable and would contribute to a fair election.
-
Regarding Voter ID laws, I have two words for you: Poll tax.
-
Not a convincing argument. It doesn’t have to be a poll tax & it seems reasonable to confirm people are who they say they are when voting. It’s totally possible to help people get some form of ID. Challenging, sure, but not impossible & fair elections should be worth it.

Mitch, what she’s trying to say - and saying far more eloquently than I ever could - is you’re a fucking hypocritical bastard with no spine or integrity and you should get the fuck out of politics before your shitty legacy gets any shittier. God, I wish I had her eloquence.

How much was your net worth
@SpeakerPelosi when you entered Congress and how much is it now on your current salary of $223,500 per year.https://www.opensecrets.org/personal-finances/net-worth?cid=N00007360&year=2016 … -
Why does that matter? Politicians can invest. She has a husband. She is not in receipt of money from Putin. She is not taking money from the 1%. Selling American people out like most of today’s GOP. That means a lot to me.
-
If the only thing that you can say about Nancy Pelosi is that she is wealthy then that says she is a woman of character integrity & loves America. Her & her husband have had time in their lives to reap benefits from Stock so why would anyone be suspect? I have a sister in law
-
Around Nancy’s age. She is married to a retired US Commissioner. They have stock. Anyone can invest in stock making their money grow. Nancy Pelosi is one person in Government that is trustworthy. All I care about is that she is fighting for our Democracy constitution & the People

Our elections should be based on popular vote only! The electoral college is antiquated. Republicans gerrymandering is unbalanced and unfair. End it all and make a popular vote wins system.

It's painfully obvious why they are in public service: To gerrymander business in order to make money off their positions via changing regulations & laws that protect the public and the land. They are no friend to their constituents and use our dissatisfaction as means to an end.
-
True. But there are a few that are actually serving their constituents. My fave Maxine Waters.
-
I'm sorry, the context was the photo and
@SpeakerPelosi 's comment to him and the rest of the Republicans. It was by no means meant for any Dem's including and not limited to Maxine Waters whom I adore with scores of other brave/brilliant and fierce Dem's.

I have always wondered about the role that McConnell played in NOT working with President
@BarackObama in informing Americans about Russian Election Inference before the 2016 Election. Add to that, McConnell's wife was given a Trump Administration Cabinet Position. -
We may find unredacted reasons McConnell failed America, by opposing Obama telling us of Russia's hacking elections Was is selfishness, treason or some other reason McConnell was complicit with Russia? Recordings of Paul Ryan proved Collusion! Laughed off as a joke? It wasn't
