Today, I was proud to sign legislation making it clear – once again – that the Congress is committed to protecting the separation of powers in our Constitution & rejecting the President’s #FakeEmergency.pic.twitter.com/fjkX9VhqOM

Except when you threaten to take guns. Then you're like, what's a constitution?

The Constitution itself does not include language to give individual citizens access to firearms of any kind. It ensures access for a well-REGULATED militia. Heller (google it) ensures individuals limited access to some type of firearm while on their own property. That’s it.

Wrong. "well regulated Militia” #2A aimed at near-universal armament/training by law of every “able-bodied” adult (the vast majority of “the people” #2A) then in 1791 & 150+ yrs prior in the Colonies then independent States.

That’s... not what it means. Even the term “arms” when taken in historical context signifies armament of organized group (see: Gary Willis) as does “well-REGULATED” militia.

The particular ‘Arms’ that WE THE PEOPLE had in mind in the late 1700s were the ‘Arms’ carried by light infantrymen as Congress reaffirmed by law 1792, 1874, 1887 and 1900.

....I listen to the Secretary of Homeland security before a congressional committee a week or so ago, to say what's happening at the border is fake is a dereliction of duty on the part of Congress..your response is outrageous, and dangerous!

This will not be the first national emergency that a POTUS has declared. Presidents who’ve declared national emergencies: Carter: 2 Reagan: 6 H.W. Bush: 4 Clinton: 17 W. Bush: 12 Obama: 13 Trump: 3 This is not unprecedented.
