shes absolutely petty and she lost the shut down war. Trumps whole natrative was Democrats care more about illegals than Americans. Her refusal to open the gov proved hes exactly right. Trump got those people their pay checks. party of compassion and tolerance, dont think so

Who knows who will win the war, but she definitively won this battle. No question. Look at the Trump’s weakened approval ratings (which he has often stated as “proof” that he’s right) to prove it. He caved. Did the right thing, to his credit. But caved.

Maybe it's better now while Trump is completely unstable, dissing Ann Coulter & Faux Noise, threatening to close down the gov't again, etc. The Speaker should refrain from drinking anything that might shoot out of her nose when she tries not to laugh while sitting behind Trump.

I am really disappointed that it isn't set after the date where he is likely to try to shut the government down again. TV time is the only thing he actually cares about.

He cares about his ratings. They were dropping every day of the shutdown - that's why he wanted the tv exposure. Another shutdown would just accelerate that.

He doesn't know how to bargain. He only knows how to demand. He opened gov -for now- and until 15th so he could get tv face time and wealthy could get paid. He has zero motivation to keep the government open and, predictably, already threatened shutting it all down again.

He wont keep it open because he doesn't understand how to bargain for what he wants while letting the government keep running--- He is a toddler who only understands threatening to tear down everything if he doesn't get what he wants

The point is that he's not getting anything from this. Even he can figure that out, eventually.

I doubt it, though I understand the thought otherwise.

He's more likely to try this emergency thing since that allows him to deflect blame to a judge no one has heard of.
