Your job is to get a budget passed that our president will sign. DO IT! Negotiate.

They told Trump to mentioned the wall at the campaign because he always forgot to mention Immigration, as I have stated before, immigration is just a tool for Republicans to win elections The WALL is just a way of scaring people to vote Republicanhttps://www.soyouknow.info/3/post/2019/01/wall.html …

I love immigration! The LEGAL kind.
-
68% of illegal immigration are visa overstays. How will a border wall help?
-
Isn't it nice to at least have a number of how many illegals there are due to overstays? Visas can at least put a name to a face. These people are known and not just some random that surged the border & entered illegally. The same can't be said about illegals crossing the border.

During my career in govt, I never heard the intel community or law enforcement identify a threat that we didn't have resources for. When a threat was identified the response was HOW, not WHETHER, to address it. It was never about IF we could keep ourselves safe,it was about how
-
That's probably no longer the case. Threat levels are increasing every day that the shutdown continues. We are more vulnerable because we don't have a fully staffed government and even the employees that are working are cutting costs because there isn't enough $
-
Publicly disclosing our vulnerabilities - which is important - does make us an easier target bc those who wish us harm know where to hit us. So we are in a higher threat environment with less and less resources to counter those threats.
-
It is entirely probable that law enforcement and intel professionals are flagging threats for policymakers that we literally can't counter. This is an unfamiliar situation in the situation room.
-
Intel and law enforcement professionals as well as policymakers are likely going home at night knowing that there are threats that we are going to have to let play out simply because we don't have the resources to counter them.
-
This is something I never dealt with under 2 different/ bipartisan Presidents.

How about the left is the issue
-
If that’s the case, why didn’t the GOP controlled Congress & Senate fund the wall before they lost control of the House? You can’t answer that, can you? They’ve had 2 yrs to fund whatever they wanted to fund. This is about Trump diverting attention from the FBI investigation!
-
I’ll answer that. I mean, I thought it was obvious? Guess not. As I’m sure you know, you need more than a simple majority to pass legislation. Meaning: Even with a GOP controlled Senate, they still needed a few Dems to get anything passed. Which obviously didn’t happen. Duh.
-
Bu they could have used reconciliation. Why didn't they if it was such a big security issue?
-
I could be mistaken on this, but is it true that only one reconciliatory bill can pass in a given year? And if so, could that be why it wasn’t used? I honestly do not know the answer to that one.
-
....reconciliation instructions affect both spending and revenues, no further reconciliation legislation can occur on these topics in the same fiscal year without a revised budget resolution.

Why did you all leave for a 3 day weekend if you’re so worried about those affected by the shutdown? Americans are not as dumb as you seem to think they are. You’ve let it go on this long for 1 reason only. You can’t let him have a win. It’s not about the people. Never was.
-
Personally, I don’t want the tactic of holding America hostage to be proven as a winning tactic by ANY party. You think it’ll stop there? You’re right, people are not as dumb as they think. We’re watching and will hold accountable reps from both parties that are FAILING the U.S.
-
I agree with that.
