But trump DOES ignore the Constitution - he's been doing that since the minute he took the Oath to "protect and defend" it - and there are no consequences. So he'll likely continue doing as he pleases. Who will stop him? How will he be held accountable?

It really is crazy here ever since trump took office. For starters, he's in violation of the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. That basically says he's not allowed to personally profit from his presidency. But when foreign dignitaries stay at his hotel in DC, he profits.

k. Does that mean if he owned a Hungry Jack's & a foreign dignitary ate there he'd be violating the constitution? That clause says 'gifts'/salary etc. Does that include free normal exchange of business? It would be dodgy if he 'charged' them more than others to stay there.

Yes. That's exactly what it means. There should be NO "free normal exchange of business" between the POTUS and anyone else. It's not only unethical, it's also illegal.

Agreed. Though he has 'formally' given the businesses over to Don Jr & Eric, I don't doubt that the wealth gets shared. Trouble is, technically, he did what he's supposed to do - sign over the business.

There's no doubt that he still owns those businesses. Every time he goes to Mara-Loco to play golf, or invites people over there, he profits. There's no secrest about that. And Ivanka, because she's not on the payroll, can get away with the same garbage.

I think that ALL paid politicians should divest from private business .... & 'charities'. How do they get away with having a 'Public Speaking' business they get paid MILLIONS for to speak to banks, Saudis & influential people. That's a profitable business.
