8 months after the Trump Admin’s stunningly weak response, far too many of our fellow Americans in #PuertoRico lack power, adequate shelter & other basic necessities. We must recommit to providing robust assistance to the families who are struggling to heal, rebuild & recover.
We must also support efforts led by @NydiaVelazquez to investigate the alarming discrepancy between this report & the official death toll. Our fellow Americans deserve to know that their government will be there for them, without question or hesitation.

It is disingenuous to believe a hurricane the size of Maria could only kill 64. Looking at the devastation, you could not but know that the deaths would be in the thousands. What’s appalling is they are US citizens and hurricane season is upon us with no end in sight.
