It shows me Nintendo has no faith in how the success a Switch port of Wonderful 101 would do.

It failed on Wii U. Where other games still had sold decent for the install size, W101 did not.

Think it's sleazy and not what Kickstarter was intended for.
-
Well, seeing as how no company wants to front the funding for production of the port, why not go to the consumers? Also, Platinum is known for not screwing over their consumers. Sure they made those licensed games for Activision but they used the earning to make great games.

It's a bit weird to me, but anything to get this game more known. The Wonderful 101 was one of my favorite games of all time and my favorite Wii U game. Now we just have to hope the Kickstarter is successful.

Well, we’ll certainly know how much the market genuinely wants this port through Kickstarter...

Feels cheap man. They are at the top of their form now and go crowdfunding while this kind of funding should be used for indies or risky projects? Porting old Saturn games could be something SEGA could do via crowdfunding or remaking Panzer Dragoon Saga?
-
I disagree. I think it's more in finding assurance that there's interest for the project. Wonderful 101 was not a commercially successful game and crowdfunding it would provide a strong foundation for it.

Not for it given they accepted a screw ton of money from *checks notes* TENCENT!
-
Tencent didn't just throw money at Platinum without having a contract in place.
