My daughter's Educate Together NS starts at 8:30. Was essential when I was working. I would also like to see creches and after school services stay open later than 6pm. You need a very understanding employer to always be able to make the 6pm deadline.

It would be hugely beneficial if they worked with the schools so school started at 8:30, so you could get to work. This is even harder for mothers with different gender kids & have 2 drop offs at 2 schools.

A couple of hundred children in buggies parked outside the department every day would focus their minds. Great weather (at the moment) for an outdoor creche.

Yet they still haven't and many lone parents forced out of work in the name of 'activation'.

We will be collecting some of the 7k bottles of water made available by DRHE in the next little while. We have been working with & engaged with people experiencing homelessness during the extreme heat since Monday, providing sun protection, Aftersun & gelpacks

The is a flawed concept that puts labour market activation above choice in childcare. Lone parent families must have all of their needs taken into account including flexible working

So as part of 'activation' measures when a child turns 7, you lose childcare support?? Tell me how that works again??

Oh the irony! Lone parents who lose their one parent family when child turns 7 were promised affordable childcare. The new excludes the payment they transfer to (Jobseeker Transition) from receiving full subsidy.

The primary cause of homelessness is eviction from the private rented sector . Many families then stay with extended family. when this breaks down, superficial studies record this as ‘family breakdown’

This is a serious challenge on the integrity of academic work. Academia should stand firm on any govt bias that leads to their work being undermined

Not to mention you be won't be asked to produce any more reports. Which evolves into a very compliant cadre of report makers...

This is a very important analysis of the use of research into the impact of cuts and reforms on in Ireland and how this research has been used politically. One-parent families are still poorer today as a result
