I genuinely don’t understand how any American could be opposed to giving people their constitutionally guaranteed due process.
Right, left, libertarian, socialist, the Rule of Law benefits us all. Let’s do away with mandatory minimums and properly fund our justice system.

Our criminal justice system does need a major overhaul. We have to end private prisons, cash bail, and slavery of inmates. More than 90% of criminal cases never go to trial, because people plead guilty just to get out of jail. That's not due process.

My issue with our process is that it is so often and so blatantly unevenly applied. THAT is a concern that needs to be addressed.

Don't play coy or naive. Plenty of greedy selfish people will do whatever to get their way. Period.
It’s actually quite simple: those who believe that can get around the paradox by believing that those who are being deprived of rights **ARE NOT PEOPLE**.
