I think the statement is a little broad, but I agree with the sentiment.

I see it as a platform placing profits and advances in their medium, as well as its perceived positives above the actual impact of its actions. All their statements have been borderline delusional in turning a blind eye to what actually comes out of their network.

I agree. Which makes the Hearst metaphor that much more apt. The Hearst vs Pulitzer rivalry had some positives.

If $fastfoodchain had a run of food poisoning, do you think blaming the customers vs the provider is reasonable? I get people's intent behind the idea of boycotting facebook. It's also not a realistic approach to making any concrete change.
