NASA’s Kepler telescope has run out of fuel and ended science operations, closing out a pioneering decade-long mission that showed planets are commonplace across our galaxy. https://spaceflightnow.com/2018/10/30/nasas-trailblazing-kepler-telescope-ends-planet-hunt/ …pic.twitter.com/wTXZnPvplg

I once was blind, but now I can see. RIP #Kepler

Of course with the brilliant decisions of our leadership we don't have a shuttle to go service it. Now it's another piece of litter orbiting our planet.

It's not orbiting the Earth, so please tell me how the shuttle would be of use here.

Sad ending for an amazing mission. NASA's Kepler space telescope was a pioneer in its field. It's a shame that the U.S. does not have the capability to refuel/refurbish satellites that can still perform a useful mission. @BadAstronomer @specolations

No means to refuel? Where's a shuttle when you need one?

Kepler is orbiting the Sun, tens of millions of kilometers from Earth. Please tell me how a shuttle would be of any use here.
