Minor spoilers: While the "What seems to be the problem" - "are you serious?" moment with the EMH was funny, it was also a tragically missed opportunity to throw in "Please state the nature of the medical emergency" :P

The very limited supply of this kind of content has always contributed to Star Trek being more of a detached world-building experience, seen through a very narrow window. Following an entire cast of non-starfleet characters is really exciting.

is giving us a very long overdue look at a civilian story within the Federation. Half a century of Star Trek and this is the first time we're focusing on things like freelance ship captains and quality of life for people without Starfleet welfare etc.

Only just noticed this, but the UNN Tripoli from Season 4 of has an extra six torpedo tubes on the bow, making the launchers symmetrical. This is clearly some kind of refit from the standard class. Can't get enough of these awesome little details.

You can't fault this guy's logic. He gave the show a fair shot. Even went so far as to watch an episode that hasn't been released yet. No way you could possibly call this unreasonable.

has made me a lot more excited about this current era of Star Trek. But I still have no idea why they are making a Section 31 show, i'm not sure i can think of a worse idea The once fascinating concept of S31 has been quite thoroughly driven into the ground

Very proud to have helped raise awareness of this. Incredibly satisfying to see this long-overdue credit on an official Battlestar product. Bravo

Todd Boyce's excellent Defender model finally gets it's canon recognition after all these years. Very well deserved! And the Orion Class is finally here! All we need now is the Valkyrie Class and we'll have all the classic Battlestars!

Based on this promo, looks like Picard has trumped Janeway in the art of jumping numerous ranks in one promotion. From Captain, past Rear Admiral, past Commodore and past Vice Admiral all the way to full-stripe Admiral Here's hoping we get to see the USS Verity!

Apparently one of the artists who did the console screens for Star Trek Beyond put some of his GUI designs on artstation and one revealed that the Franklin is "Freedom Class" so we have a fully canon class name. Not to be confused with the hideous TNG-Era Freedom Class.

I don't hate the Crossfield Class. But it has some weird quality that makes it not feel like a hero ship. It looks like something that should be in the background or just dropping off an admiral at the start of an episode. It's almost like watching a show about an Oberth Class.

Pretty surprised to read that Eddington was only in 9 episode of Deep Space Nine. That show did such a good job of continually alluding to it's supporting cast and mentioning their connections to other characters, that they all feel like they're present all of the time.

I can't overstate how awesome our voice cast is. We've got some amazing performances coming your way when release rolls around, really excited to show them off.

It betrays a frankly ridiculous attitude of entitlement that there are so many people who think the creative works of a team of writers and a production company should have their authenticity decided by THEM and not by the people who worked their asses off making them.

I don't care much for most of DSC myself. But those who own the IP have said its canon. When they said that, they didn't suggest that it should be so, they MADE it so. Their views literally decide the facts here. Things don't cease to be fact because you dislike them.

As much as Star Wars fans ranting about where that IPs canon has gone can be annoying, at least they haven't somehow convinced themselves that it literally isn't canon, or fundamentally misunderstood how canon works Anti-Discovery Star Trek fans are very much in the second camp

I'd love an update on the status of the 1701-E in . "You left the Enterprise to command the evacuation fleet" seems to imply she was still in service when Romulus blew. Wonder if she still is under a new captain. Or if we have a 1701-F now.

I don't think Star Trek has ever looked better than it did in the Enterprise-E era Brilliant set design, the best uniforms, awesome looking phaser and tricorder props etc. Even the particle effect and impact on the hand phaser looks more real than usual.
