Stage 1 landing??

Geostationary orbit requires lot of "fuel" so they don't attempt an experimental landing in that case
-
That’s not the reason. It’s possible to land the booster in missions to geostationary orbit if the payload is light enough. They have done it before. http://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-spacex-falcon-9-rocket-cargo-launch-landing-video-2016-5 … The main reason it’s they need the drone ship ready for Falcon Heavy maiden launch next week
-
Also, this is a old iteration of the Falcon 9, called block III. I believe they will stop using those in favor of the newer block IV and V

@SpaceX Does the 2nd stage eventually fall out of orbit and burn up or does it just keep going? -
Will leave a reply so that if someone answers I will be able to know
-
I believe it de-orbits. They dont want something that large in an uncontrolled orbit. And if you watched the altimeter, when released, it started loosing altitude. And that drop should continue until acted upon by another force.

I get that there are fuel reasons for no Stage 1 landing but you have spoiled me and now I can't help but cry about what a damn waste it is every time. I need those sweet, sweet droneship videos... :(
-
Don’t cry-it’s an outdated model and the fish will will appreciate a new home.
