Why first stage not recovered? It made me a liar to my viewing party.

What happens to the first stage? Picking it up? Recycle it? Let it sink somewhere? Why not recover as usual?
-
They’ll pick it back up and use as much of it as possible, probably the fuel. Regards to why they didn’t recover it, they don’t need to. The stage is old, they have new blocks that are much better.

Launch was beautiful, and congratulations. (Would have loved to have seen the stage 1 splashdown, though. And why were landing legs reported deployed for a splashdown anyway?)

Could someone theoretically go and fish the first stage out of the Atlantic
-
If you can, what would you do with it?
