Zuma? Are you sending our president to space? Thank you soooo much. We’re forever in your debt!

Wishful thinking! Pls explain choice of space craft name ‘Zuma’
@SpaceX? We’re wondering if U could accommodate a ‘presidential’SA payload?

Not gonna give us any hints as to what the payload's for huh?
-
The won't even give us a hint on which organization it is being launched for.

-
But yes, likely not for NRO.
-
And I had thought (before this Zuma payload was added to SpaceX's launch manifest) that the NRO would be the most "super-secret squirrel" of federal agencies to require a launch service. Apparently, there's an even more super-secret squirel-y federal organization.

-
Plot twist: The payload's actually the Tesla semi and this has been a ruse!

-
If only that indeed proves to be the case!
-
Certainly would be a huge PR boon IMO, especially since the unveil starts only an hour or so after the launch window closes.

-
Well,
@John_Gardi initially speculated - still thinks? - it's actually SpaceX launching the first of their
for the space-based ISP plans. - 3 more replies
