Each of the nine Merlin engines generates 200,000 lbs of thrust, so 1.85 million total: more than a Rocketdyne F-1 from Saturn V

What was the object near the first stage as it was coming back to land?
-
A ship?
-
During the descent many seconds before landing, you can see an object, dark brown, moving past as if it was stationary.
-
Got a link?
-
Interesting. I wonder what an aircraft would look like from that perspective. I know there was a plane to the west of launch on Friday....
-
It's debris from falcon 9 as seen in previous flights. You can see it emanate from the base of the rocket and quickly increase in velocity

So the composite stage 2 was dropped down in the ocean rather than landing it like the main hull of the rocket?thought entire rocket lands

The S2 is still floating in LEO. It'll take a couple of months b4 it's low enough in altitude 2 mostly burn up as it renters
's atmosphere. -
There's a site - http://stuffin.space - where 1 can search for the F9's, other objects in earth orbit. Unfortunately, it req java enabled
-
Thank you very much. One more thing, how do I specifically find the pieces of F9 objects? It's showing all the pieces and thousands routes
-
Type Falcon 9 in the site's search field. You could also use the "Group" drop-down menu.
-
Awesome. Thank you
