        .@SpaceX @EMSL I saw a detail view at the Grumman museum. It is stuffed with an aluminum hex mesh like a laser cutter bed. Neat stuff.

        And Armstrong landed so softly it didn't crush. Thus the long drop from the ladder to the landing pad. Kind of a giant leap, really.

        Irrelevant. Humans would never be on F9 first stage. Either way, the answer is probably "yes".

        The F9 booster pulls under 7Gs peak (we don't know the exact number, obviously). Capsules usually peak at 3Gs.

        That said, 7Gs is definitely survivable, just very uncomfortable and may involve blacking out.
