        the flames between the bottom ends of the engine nozzles and the base of the rocket, and the material flapping around the lower part of the second stage, not a problem?

        Those flames are normal, they happen during every launch. The loose insulation blanket wasn't designed as such however. Still it caused no harm obviously.

        It didn't appear to, which is good. Do you know if there is any study into why the flames get back in around the nozzles?

        Haven't seen an explanation so far. I just know it's normal from observation of many Falcon 9 launches.

        Have you looked at any of the other video of Launches, of Atlas, Saturn, Titan rockets? The returned Falcons might be able to inform, us; I'd hate something like that to go by and bite us on the arse later.

        Yes, it's not a Falcon 9 specific occurrence. But since Falcon 9 is equipped with a special heatshield at the engine base for reentry I wouldn't worry about it.
