Your CEO and deadlines mix like oil and water. Just give a realistic timeline instead of pushing back 20 times before actual.

Musk has nothing to do with manifesting. Launches are tentatively scheduled and problems are worked until the launch. If more time is needed they push. That's why "NET" is always included (Not Earlier Than). It's why they're called launch attempts.

Took the words right out of my mouth
-
I'm confused.
-
He's saying that Elon has nothing to do with launch dates and times. Falcon 9 is an incredibly complex machine, and every single part needs to work perfectly. "No Earlier Than" means just that. If they launch on time, great! Sometimes things need extra time, and that's normal.

For the record, I understand what Brady said, I was responding to Jaro who, in his first tweet, sounded like he was arguing against whatever Brady was saying, but then replied as if agreeing. Looked like a 180 on position

To develop maximum reusability, SpaceX needs to understand the wear on their rockets and how to remedy it. If there's a possible issue with a rocket, they can't risk millions of dollars of payload or their reputation. There's more at stake than punctuality.
-
The issue is on the second stage, hence is not wear related (only the first stage is reused). Totally agree that the delay is better than running the risk.
-
My bad. I thought Block 5 was reusing the second stage as well. But I agree, it's good that they are standing down if there's an issue. It'll be really exciting when they reuse the whole rocket, but then again, the biggest excitement is BFR and Mars. Emphasis on Mars.
-
2nd stages going to GTO are very difficult to reuse as you need to reserve a lot of fuel to deorbit - they don't just fall out of the sky.https://www.reddit.com/r/spacex/comments/8jv0ed/ses12_launch_campaign_thread/dzwjun1?utm_source=reddit-android …

Hell yeah, I'll be in Florida fairly close. I think I'll travel to the Cape and experience a lift off!!
-
Watch it from the tour parking lot my wife and I did wow it was cool
-
I watched the launch from Patrick AFB, Chevron park. Wasn't as close as I wanted, but it was still pretty damn awesome!!
