I've been thinking about visiting an orthodox church but there isn't a orthodox church within 50 miles of me. But there's a Catholic church within walking distance. What's the main difference between the two?

The Roman Catholic Church kind of felt like a zombie to me. Animated and alive but when I tried (I really tried) to be Catholic I felt no soul. I watched one of my sisters fall into agnosticism in catholic school as they simply didn’t have the answers to the questions libs push

I tried orthodoxy once and I was hooked. Unlike that barren modernist church I attended I felt the soul of the church and the presence of God which was something I’d never felt before. I cried my first visit and knew immediately that I’d made the right choice.

tbh I haven't gone to church since I was a kid in a methodist church and they all wore whatever. What should I wear if I want to attend an orthodox church? Just some slacks and a dress shirt? Unironically, I own mostly flannels and gym shorts

Just try to dress respectfully. Some people do slacks and dress shirts. I usually wear chinos and a sport coat. Sometimes jeans and a sport coat. Even nice jeans and a button down or polo is good.
