most 'smart homes' are just a collection of over priced consumer goods with hidden screens or bullshit like bluetooth connectivity

beyond AI monitored security I can't imagine many practical applications of smart tech beyond monitoring and centralizing data and creating to-do lists/reminders out of it. Food is X % done, your car says tire pressure is low, running low on milk, buy more printer ink, etc.
