To me the role of Anki is not to play a 1-to-1 memory matching game, but to remind yourself of contexts where you understood that word in the past, to more easily retain a foothold in your current level of acquisition. A foothold, not a teacher.
I had a set # of anki cards I wanted to make daily, but not enough immersion so I end up with cards with first-time-seen word sentences. Anki to Immersion ratio was wack, and learning became stressful. Thanks for the wisdom!
