What I would say is if you look at leading Conservative figures you will see that practically all of them support Free Speech and none have called for flagging campaigns whereas many figures on the left like Carlos Maza, for instance, have called for flagging campaigns against...

Most well-known Conservatives have always opposed flagging campaigns or any other form of harassment, You cannot blame someone for something their fans have done.

Of course you can blame people for the actions of their fans. Commentators are influencers. If a particular influencer has a particular fan base, that speaks to who they are as a person and serves as an indictment against them. Whether they accept it or not.

That is simply a very bad way of judging a person If a Conservative commentator has told their fans not to harass or flag people then you cannot blame them if their fans do, If we judged people like that then everyone would be condemned since you could just...

But conservative commentators don't generally tell their fans not to do that. They bitch when it happens to them, but then are silent when it happens to their opposition. And if they do condemn it, they do so tepidly and pathetically.

multiple influencers try to keep their fan bases from doing horrible shit in their name (pewdipie, Jim sterling, etc.) a fan base is, like almost every group made up of individuals with at least a few fanatics, Joshua.

But not all fanbases are equal. Yes, every fanbase has some fanatics to some degree, but some more than others. JF's fanbase is going to be quite a bit more fanatical than Boogie's for example. This may be due to many things, but at least partially, the creators themselves.

I don't think it is fair to condemn a person simply because of their fan base or because of what their fan base has done if they have not explicitly called for it.

This is so narrow minded. This is like the "well have explicitly said they think black people are inferior to white people? No? Then they aren't racist!" mentality. Things are not so simple. Just because someone doesn't openly call for something doesn't mean they don't want it.

Well Human beings are not mind readers so we will never know the inner thoughts of someone, so because of that I think it is unfair to claim someone has a particular opinion if they have not explicitly supported it.
