1- Was the attack on Ion Fury a false flag? Here's an internet message board post that is taking credit for it. Anyone could just claim that though, right? 2 - Now, I did some digging, and I'm talking to developers on Ion Fury. There has been outrage that they changed the main character's design to make her "less sexy." I've seen this anger firsthand. The problem is, it's not quite true.
3 - At some point, someone at 3DRealms went & posted old concept art from Duke Nukem on Steam, with some quote about it being embarrassing in this day and age. This kicked off a furor & people began believing that Ion Fury devs changed their art to "bend the knee to SJWs"pic.twitter.com/ynKLs5UvKv
4 - Whatever your thoughts about the character, she wasnt changed to appeal to anyone for any political reasons. The devs made the character as they did cuz that's what they wanted. It was some boneheaded 3DR guy who then jumped in to virtue signal. This pissed the game devs off
5 - Ion fury was made by a fairly small team of people, one of them is disabled and this was his chance to do something for his family and to get off disability pay. Now, thanks to the media punishing wrongthink cuz they said things people didnt like, they are being attacked
6 - If the Era post was made by a troll making a hit, which is believable given the posts screenshotted were quite old, then this says a lot about how broken the medium is. Journalists are punishing wrong-think, and trolls are ruining careers cuz a character isn't hot.
7 - Making matters worse, is that hordes of people are now trying to refund the game because the devs were forced to apologize. I am in contact with the developers, and they're pissed with the situation. FWIW: 3DR's PR wanted them to admit to a "misogynist" work environment
8 - They are being thrown under the bus & punished for having opinions that have nothing to do with the game they published, and theyre being punished by those who once supported them, all cuz their publisher (and a single internal game dev) forced their hand.
9 - And even if this wasnt a troll. It's still fucked up. Resetera made a thread, journalists pounced, and now the devs are forced into a culture war built around constant outrage. The devs are people, and they're mad, and they're hurting. What did they do to deserve any of this?
10 - If this doesn't show just how broken this entire medium is, I dont know what does. All I know is I'm fucking ashamed to be associated with it. Fuck trolls. Fuck outrage baiters. Fuck Resetera. Fuck the journalists keeping this shitshow going. Fuck 3DR. Fuck the 'culture-war'
11 - And, wanna know something else fucky? Very few journalists have reached out to them for comment. So pieces attacking them are being published, yet they cant get their own comments in. I repeat, fuck this outrage baiting culture that journalism has devolved to. It's broken

I think everyone should use this information to open their eyes to how we can all be easily weaponized. The internet makes us easily manipulated. It's not just the morons at ResetEra who fall prey to these dirty tactics, either. We all do. Just something to think about.
What's saddest of all is that ResetEra won't even care. They got their "win", and that's all that matters. They were able to potentially ruin a developer due to weaponized SocJus, but cuz they dislike what the dev said, them being trolled will be denied. Nothing will be learned

Im still not convinced he isnt a troll, but pretending he isnt. I hope he one day sees that nothing said in his GameFaqs past is anywhere near as toxic/problematic as what he’s now engaging in at ResetEra. Actively ruining devs lives over old comments kinda makes you suck.
