We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist.

  5. For me, outside of my close family and friends, it's Toni Morrison and Janet Jackson. I mean, I will let you finish, but Morrison was the greatest writer and Jackson the greatest entertainer of ALL TIME! LOL!

  7. No shade to my Iowan fam, but when I hear “Iowa,” the first thing that comes to mind is bland stuff—like wheat, talcum powder, the pledge of allegiance, route signs with ungodly numbers like 66, red and white checkerboard picnic tablecloths, and tic tac toe. 😇

  8. Fam, can someone tell me what the fuck is going on in Iowa? And why is Iowa so fucking “important” when it comes to voting? Because its population 93% white?

  13. Black truisms floating around our communities: "They want our rhythm, but not our blues." "Black people are being replaced with 'Black Lives Matter' signs."

  14. The mainstream has always been--and I imagine, always will be--an appeal to the folks with all the resources. And who has all the resources in the U.S.?

  15. One of the reasons Berry Gordy made Diana Ross the lead singer of the Supremes is because her voice was more pop. Florence Ballard sounded "too Black."

  16. You ever notice how much they love MOTOWN? MOTOWN is Black, but it was specifically designed to be Respectable Black, which made it easier for them to like.

  18. So it's not surprise to me that Black music is consumed (and I mean "consumed" literally) in white spaces.

  19. It's no coincidence that Eminem and Drake are the biggest selling rap artists and white people are winning in R&B categories at the Grammys. This is all by design with the intent to prop up whiteness (which has no identity beyond being parasitic) using Blackness.

  20. ...only white men, like Justin Beiber, or Black men with serious problems chasing after whiteness, like Chris Brown, get to be the voices of what's passing as R&B music nowadays.

  21. ...only the lightest-skinned/racially ambiguous women singers with whispery/auto-tuned voices get the R&B crossover hits...
