If I were a football player I simply would not hit the quarterback when he is out of bounds to give my opponents a FG that is 15 yards closer.

I think if the 49ers run it the next time they have the ball it’ll work because Philly will be like “they can’t possibly do something that is failing this badly again, let’s defend the pass.”

I mostly disagree with this, but it would be kinda funny to see the best picture montage for BARBARIAN.

Mia Goth says ‘change is necessary’ with the way the Oscars reject horror after ‘Pearl’ was shut out. “I think that it’s very political… A shift should take place if they wanted to engage with the wider public. I think it would be of benefit really [to nominate horror movies].”

Some will say “this isn’t self defense,” but how do you know? Maybe that monk broke into the demon’s house and is trying to assert squatter’s rights. Gotta hear both sides.

Anybody aiming at colonizing Mars should realize that the Earth's oceans are • Easier to reach • Easier to colonize • More fertile Oh, and there's nearly 3x land in the Earth's oceans (140M sqm) than in all of Mars (56M sqm)

The guy who plays the chav on White Lotus S2 is very good. Perfectly captures the nature of the untrustworthy British lout.

The film might very well be on "Peacock" now, I wouldn't know. Personally, I have possessed a physical copy since September. But I'm sure you all will admire the picture just as much from your dirty laptop screens and water-damaged Airpods.

The other day I was thinking about David Bowie and of all his performances the one I most wanted to watch in that precise moment was his three-minute cameo on EXTRAS. Just watching Gervais’s face deflate while Bowie sings “Chubby little loser” … perfection.

Listen, I don't like him very much these days either, but this is some top-shelf physical comedy from Ricky Gervais. youtube.com/watch?v=KwJoNS

I loved listening to this episode this morning. It gave me the warm fuzzies. I admit to be a big fan of his TV shows, Almost Paridise, The Librarians, and any version of Leverage that comes out. Didn't realize he had a new show coming out.

Interesting. These two tweets linking to the NYT piece on INFINITY POOL's ratings have been almost *completely* throttled by Twitter. Compare to views for my previous tweet. Also getting a weird error message on TweetDeck for the QT to the original post.

This week, the BBC published an absolutely huge story. Conventional history states that horses were long extinct in the Americas at the time of the European arrival. Not so! says the BBC. Indigenous horses were not only present in 1492, but have survived to the present day

I feel fairly confident in saying the Paul Pelosi video will cause roughly zero people to reconsider their theory of what happened that evening.

You’re not mad Andrea Riseborough got an Oscar nomination. You’re mad your preferred actress (or actresses) failed to give one of the five objectively best performances of the year. You’re mad at yourself, really.

If you've only ever heard about American Dirt via Twitter, you might have the wrong idea of how it fared in the marketplace, as I did before I read this tweet
Quote Tweet
American Dirt has sold until now 650,000 copies in hardcover according to Bookscan (the trade tool for book sales counts). It's a massive hit. For comparison, my novel, Mexican Gothic, which ended up 12 weeks on the NYTs best seller list, sold 166,000 hardcovers
