    Good to see my Brown Hairstreak hedgerow recovering from last years flail. Egg count results: 2016/17 = 6 eggs - 64 minutes searching 17/18 = 10 eggs - 45 minutes 18/19 = 3 eggs - 26 minutes 19/20 = 7 eggs - 38 minutes

    A lovely few hours spent on the levels today with the highlight a swimming Bittern at Shapwick. A strange sight to see them swimming, fast as well!...

    This spinning shoveler pair aren't practising their synchronised swimming routine! They swim in tight circles like this to sift the water with their large bills, filtering out food- much in the same way blue whales filter plankton! Wow!
