I’ve been on a new machine for a week and still find myself applying different pressure (read: mashing) to several buttons I have destroyed by excessively intense coding on the old machine.

Haha I can almost imagine what your hardcore coding sessions are like. My most compulsive action is CTRL+S. I write a line of code, save. Delete some code, save. Add a semicolon, save.
