Coming back from Colorado, I now see how this system can work even in cold climates. The sun up in the mountains was so fucking strong, even stronger than in Texas. If we want an equitable transition away from mineral extraction, we need less resource-heavy power generation.

Pressure and water are two things that are ignored when talking about energy storage. So what if we made a water "battery" that used water and pressure from passive solar heating to drive a turbine? This is almost done but here is a sneak peek: this is what an off grid internet that needs zero batteries looks like. A cheap folding solar panel directly powering a router that propagates a network and a server that has thousands of books, a chat and media server.
