Our question: How do you choose what to grow on the allotment? answer: 💐 'We grow flowers for cutting, and to make the plot more attractive to pollinators and other wildlife.' 💐 For more tips, follow the link below:

I love . I really do. But seeing dyed Phalaenopsis and cardboard boxes full of plastic-wrapped plants in plastic pots for the temporary Orchid Festival made me feel uneasy. Where is the sustainability? How is this not somehow akin to "fast plant fashion"?

Joseph Baker Fountain (1907-92) He was a Knaresborough builder/ bricklayer who also painted. I find his domestic pictures comforting and know the area well. This is lovely.

A very big thank you to everyone who has been retweeting for us. We want to use as much of our money as we can to get people back in to their gardens. If you retweet and get our message out there we don't need to use valuable funds to advertise.

He’s never very far away is he? I love this one by Gary Bunt, I think the old man just got out of bed, opened the door and Spring has arrived. Love the style of the barn type door, his jamas and the dresser plates.

I'm delighted to announce that we have finally received our new recycled plant trays. Pale grey, made from recycled fridges and fully recyclable in the UK. Had to buy a whole pallet to get them but worth it.

All these experts who don't seem to be able to manage without whilst loads of the rest of us have been happily growing for years is making me begin to wonder just how "expert" they actually are.
