As a white person, I think we need to be more willing to turn to introspection when it comes to discomfort. If a BIPOC says something that makes me feel uncomfortable, it's not their job to ease my discomfort. It's my job evaluate why I'm uncomfortable and deal with that.

uncomfortable holds hands with growth maybe this analogy works The surgeon knows there might be a scar, but has a higher purpose. They try to minimize the scar, but the surgery is the necessary priority. Open heart surgery involves cutting ribs and a big scar.

As an ally, I find the comments made by the tweets I read offer insight into my thought processes and beliefs. From there,I can continue to grow. Eg: I have always preferred people to speak for themselves but I have learned so much more this year about the concept of “amplify”.
