So today @youtube has changed its requirements for people to become partnered. As a result MANY small channels are being demonetized and not promoted as much as before. When will @TeamYouTube stop this utter madness? They will kill their own platform at this rate

What is the requirements?

4000 hours viewing time across 12 months, which for many of us isn't an issue. However smaller/newer channels this can be tough on them big time. As we all know hitting that first 1k is huge but we also know a decent number of those 1k subs probably don't actively watch your vids

That honestly isn’t that bad. It will just make you have to work harder for it. If you want it bad enough you will get it.

No monetizing = youtube not promoting your videos.. So that forces them to resort to spamming links in groups on facebook etc to maintain that small growth they have and are happy with for the time they can spare to do what they enjoy doing. Not everybody wants to blow up

That’s not true at all. My first few videos got good views and I wasn’t monitized. I was getting a few thousand views a video. People will still see your videos. Then if you have good videos you will grow.

They must have changed it before you started then. When I started my videos never popped up in any suggestions anywhere until I hit 1k subs. That was when I noticed a big increace in views and analytics reflected the extra promotion by youtube.
