Yes without sharing aadhar no you can't get sim card ,insurance ,bank account ,delivery of goods shopped online ,even if you have old bank account or insurance policies (with Pvt or govt companies ) you can't continue with those without sharing your aadhar no.

It is totally voluntary though.
-
Yes it is voluntary but if you do not share aadhar no you will not get services . So you can say that it is voluntary but mandatory.
-
Well, We use to share Id before Aadhar too and same id on multiple places, what's new about it. Your biometric is never shared but only information that you see on your Id. So, same problem was with earlier id too but unlike them, Aadhar decrease corruption by multiple fake Id.
-
The possibility of identity theft which had happen in many cases All information on one document mob dob name address Possibility of financial frauds again had happen in recent times And if the bio matric is compromised Your life will become hell which is possible.
-
Same Identity theft can be done by earlier id too. And biometric data is not shared by Aadhar servers but it is used only to match with incoming biometric data to the server or to find other duplicate id in the server.

This cloning technic happens to ATM too and people in most of such case loose money. Should we stop ATM service? Government should just monitor Aadhar making agents more regressively.https://twitter.com/prchu01/status/955424728767803392 …

In the US people are asked for their SSN for pretty much everything. Why is asking for
#Aadhaar worse? In LK we have national IDs similarly. -
Are any of those a good thing then? In the UK we have so far avoided the existence of a dominant shared key.
-
LK has had a simple national ID (pic+name+addr) for long. However, the new fancy NIC has too much info IMO - biometrics and family data too.
-
The attributes of the ID are less the issue than whether it provides a single UID to link everyone's databases.
-
True but with today's level of compute and data its not a big deal to form primary keys from many fields. Ask the NSA .. they're pretty good at it ;-).
-
Yes, but if that's not ground you've surrendered yet it should be protected. Sadly India just surrendered it wantonly.
-
Sorry but Aadhar don't link everyone database. You have to give
#Aadhaar Copy to every service provider. Ex- even my mobile is Adhar registered and mobile is registered to bank, still I have to give ID to bank bcz Adhar will not share details with bank.https://twitter.com/prchu01/status/955391316564762624 … -
You're missing the point, which I stated clearly.

and the SSN is prohibited by law from being used for identification purposes too, but there are a bunch of companies that use it...

Aadhaar has biometric data that's linked to your phone, can track your every movement. Also Aadhaar functions as a crude debit card where cash can be withdrawn with Aadhaar no. or fingerprints. Many thefts. But 'Aadhaar law' blocks us from filing police/court case.
-
Why do you need Aadhaar to track you. Your mobile phone is enough to track you. USA is anyway tracking your behavior and location using Facebook and Google. Why don’t you speak up against these?
-
Because Aadhaar is ultimately about the economic colonization of India (and other 3rd world countries) through digital slavery. It's the post WWII neo-colonists - working with a corporate cartel & corrupt politicians.https://twitter.com/kingslyj/status/952840480772972544 …

National security threats of
#ADHAAR dystopia are severely underestimated
