Officials confirm there's a secret report showing abuses of spy law Congress voted to reauthorize this week. If this memo had been known prior to the vote, FISA reauth would have failed. These abuses must be made public, and should send the bill back with a veto.

Just read the classified doc @HPSCI re FISA abuse. I'm calling for its immediate public release w/relevant sourced material. The public must have access ASAP! #Transparency

HPSCI reports have been false before, but all we know now is that many in Congress are making serious allegations it documents abuses of surveillance law--something we all know happened routinely under Bush and Obama (almost certainly Trump as well). We need to know if it's BS.

But if Trump decides to veto 702 reauth because he believes some crazy conspiracy theory about being targeted by the "deep state," that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, insofar as it would prevent gov from continuing to enable mass surveillance of Americans.
