Trump is seeking to expand warrantless surveillance of communications with one end in the United States. The USA Rights Act forbids abusing this to search Americans' communications, but it's facing intense resistance. It won't pass without your help. Please call right now.https://twitter.com/ACLU/status/951468996829827074 …

Congress is voting today on making government spying powers even worse. Take 30 seconds out of your day to call your Reps and tell them to support the USA Rights Act amendment, which would help bring them in line with the Constitution instead. https://www.aclu.org/ReformSection702-callTW …

You keep talking about the USA, that's weird. You're in Russia, what are they doing that is invasive & illegal or you can't talk about that. Just curious.

Be careful what you ask for. All it took for a political opponent to spy on the rivals campaign was a unsubstantiated dossier and a drunken statement to a third party in a bar. Israel might be willing to do a dossier in 2020 for Trump to spy on Democrats wouldn’t that be a pitty

You must not be aware of the highly-placed Trump campaign official that went to the FBI & became an informant once s/he saw what was going on and realized the seriousness. Before Papadopoulos. Way before Steele's largely-confimed report.

Isn't the American only in risk if they're already doing something they shouldn't? Because the people being monitored are foreign people being investigated correct?

That's the f-ing point: No. They are BULK collecting. From everybody. Including Americans. They have been for at least 15 years. And they're doing it, because they think among all US citizens there could be people who later turn out to be suspicious.

And, by the way: It'd be better, if the government had oversight over it. In fact, they don't. FBI, NSA, CIA, all the 3-letter agencies do it without oversight by government or even judges. The political class is just like: 🙈🙉🙊

You want a political leader to have access to information about Americans that can be used as political bargaining chips? No. The intelligence agencies have no political agenda, they follow the law. Which is why you would want them to control this sort of information.
