Except it’s not FUD. Google it. Plenty of stories and diagnosis.

Ok then. Remain skeptical. Since you’re lazy....https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2018/01/meltdown-and-spectre-every-modern-processor-has-unfixable-security-flaws/ …

lazy is just posting a blurb

Ok agreed. Sometimes tweets are too inside baseball.

I actually do my due diligence. twitter is just tough and I'm in a bad mood on all of it. I totally agree with looking it up yourself. I am being kind of lazy. just bitching today. :)

(I think that’s my default mode sometimes)

Apply the patch(es), your system isn't safe. https://www.amd.com/en/corporate/speculative-execution …

Don't spread false information. AMD is affected only by Spectre Variant 1which is hard to exploit & can only hart you if you are using a modified linux kernel.

Good to know.

Este vídeo lo vi ayer. En chrome se soluciona activando Site Isolation, en Firefox está un poco más jodida la cosa de momento

An attacker still has to compromise my machine, right? It's not like they could use this vulnerability without (stupid) action from my side. So, why does it feel like Meltdown is worse than any other attack, by any other malware like Ransomware, Keylogger, Password-Stealer, ... ?
-
For
#meltdown yes. But it gives access to the entire physical memory content, independent of the operating system and installed software. This is even true from within containers (e.g. Docker) and some VMs (e.g. Xen PV)
