        Don't spread false information. AMD is affected only by Spectre Variant 1which is hard to exploit & can only hart you if you are using a modified linux kernel.

        An attacker still has to compromise my machine, right? It's not like they could use this vulnerability without (stupid) action from my side. So, why does it feel like Meltdown is worse than any other attack, by any other malware like Ransomware, Keylogger, Password-Stealer, ... ?

        For #meltdown yes. But it gives access to the entire physical memory content, independent of the operating system and installed software. This is even true from within containers (e.g. Docker) and some VMs (e.g. Xen PV)
