Whenever people tell me this stuff I struggle to see the problem with it. If the law is unjust, you should want to fix the law, for everyone, not just find ways to circumvent detection for yourself. That's what I thought you believed in.

I think privacy is a weird thing to fixate on. Once you stop expecting it, you realise you've lost nothing.

Do you not think that a loss of privacy, in many ways can lead to a loss of freedom?

The principle of the Panopticon prison is that with perfect surveillance, only one guard is needed, at the centre. The prisoners, not knowing if they are being watched at any given moment, govern themselves. What this should tell you is that the society being built is a prison.

The outstanding question is, do you trust the guard not to abuse their power?

Even if the guard was perfectly nice I would still prefer to be able to leave the prison.

You joke, but this combined with Sesame Credit makes this a tool not only for totalitarian governments but also exploitative private agencies - who would work with your employer

So I'm assuming they went to China because the UK equivalent weren't willing to give the same access? Or is it because BBC is biased, and making *foreign* states seem scary is more acceptable than doing the same for one's own state?
